Systematic Design of Energy-Saving Action Plans for Taiwan Campus by Considering Economic Benefits and Actual Demands

In response to the future net zero emissions plan in Taiwan, campus shoulders university’s social responsibility and educational significance. Recently, energy conservation carbon reduction have become common goals for every campus. However, there is a problem be addressed terms of how take into account economic benefits continuous improvement strategy regarding actual demands. this study, systematic design energy-saving action plans Taiwan by considering demands demonstrated. By taking National University Science Technology as an example, eight during period from 2016 2020 are introduced, effectiveness these topologies verified real implementations. Action contain installation smart management system, elevator power recovery devices, circulating fans, lighting delay switches; replacement old air-conditioners, fluorescent lamps, high-sodium streetlights; load consolidation low-efficiency transformers replacement. Upon evaluation, estimated electricity savings can achieve up 16% annual consumption, payback about 5.22 years. application, saving amounts 3,076,260 kWh approximately 15.5% consumption Tech 2020.
